OKTOBERFEST
October 25-27
The Schützenguilde had 9 shooters on the line for the annual Oktoberfest. Some very fine targets were shot and 6 competitors finished all 300 shots for record! It's amazing to me that after 300 shots were fired in competition, only one point separated the top two finishers! Good shooting, Russ and Keith! On Friday, we had some fierce Santa Ana winds to deal with, and they abated somewhat for the rest of the weekend. All in all, some tough conditions. Top target of the fest was a 249 of 250 fired by Mr. Bob Tyler, in the 200 yard benchrest match. Great shooting Bob! Thanks go to our Schuetzenmeister, Eric Keel, for putting on a great match, as well as scoring all those shots! We would also like to thank John Theile for providing decorations and the $50 cash prize, as well as making up both of the King Targets. Great job John! We had a nice dinner and Saturday evening as well as lunch on Sunday, provided by Russ Hooks. Many other members pitched in with setup and teardown - so thank you all!
